Magenta Monday!

These pictures are from a couple years ago when we went to Florida. October 2007 to be exact. I can't wait to go back. We had a great time!

We stayed at this great resort and they had a pond in the middle with lots and lots of ducks. This was the first morning we were there and Derek took the kids out to feed the ducks.

The first day we were there we headed to Sea World. We had so much fun. I love this picture of Derek and Kendal it really shows how much they love each other. Also, I loved her hair in this picture. The humidity made her hair ten times curlier and I loved it!

This is Derek and I at Disneyworld. The people in the background are just our groupies, don't mind them.

I remember taking this picture thinking to myself, "I hope they're like this forever." And you know what? They're still like this. They're the best of friends and always look out for each other. I am so blessed!

Magenta Monday!

I have an addiction to old pictures! I found a CD that had all our pictures from 2005 and I am loving looking through them and remembering the fun times we had. Feel free to join in, just post a link in the comments.

Easter

Easter means so much to all of us. Last week when I heard this talk in conference by Jeffrey R. Holland, it touched me so much that I knew I had to share.

Magenta Monday

These pictures are from about three years ago. I love to look at my kids then and remember their pudgy fingers and toes and just how little they were. So, enjoy my blessings from about 3 years ago. Join in if you want, just leave a comment linking to your blog.

A Conversation With My Sister

After she heard we were moving we had a conversation (texting) that went like this:

Amanda: "Have you told mom yet? She's going to be so sad."

Me: "No, will you tell her for me?"

A: "No, that's something that you need to tell her at home. She's going to miss you."

M: "I'm scared to."

In the meantime my mom sends A a text telling her we're having family dinner on Saturday and that I have some big news and that she hopes I'm expecting.

A: "You're waiting till Saturday?! Oh man, I hope she doesn't find out before then from someone who reads your blog."

M: "I don't dare tell her. Will you do it for me?"

A: "No way man! I know how upset she'll be."

Me and My Mom: "April Fools!" (By this point I just felt guilty and couldn't carry it on anymore.)

A: Silence - for two hours!

Finally I sent her a text.

M: "Are you mad at me?"

A: "No, I thought it was super funny and well played! I was seriously laughing and driving and I thought I was going to crash! Haha!

So, there you have it folks. A great April Fools joke! Sorry to those of you I duped. Although, it would be a great experience to head out on our own. Now I really know how much we're loved if we ever do leave. Thanks for all your comments and love! Now, what for next year....

Big News!

Ever since Derek and I were first married we have wanted to move. Just to have the experience of living on our own. Derek has always wanted to move to Seattle. He served his mission there and has always loved it. We've had some changes come up lately and had to make some tough decisions. The last week we've talked a lot about what we were going to do. And last Thursday we decided it was time to move. We didn't want to tell anyone until we were sure that's what we wanted to do, but yesterday we heard back from the place we wanted to rent from and it's a go! We're so excited! Here's the link to where we're going to live if you want to take a look: Our New Home It's in a little town named Stanwood and he knows a few people there from his mission.

The kids and I won't be leaving until the end of May, when they get out of school, but Derek will be leaving in two weeks. The people that offered him his new job, he'll be cooking for a restaurant in Bellevue, said that they'd keep it for him until then.

We're so excited to start out on our new journey! Wish us luck!
