Are we there yet?

On November 8th, we decided to take the kids to the Nellis Air Force Base Air Show in Las Vegas. Originally, Derek was going to take the priests in our ward but none of them wanted to go, so we went instead. The gates opened at 9:00. We left home about 8:30 thinking that that would be plenty of time to see everything. We got there between 10:30 and 11:00 and saw a line to get in to wait for the buses to take us to the air force base. The line we got in wasn't way long, but it got longer as we waited. Below is the line after we had waited for about an hour. To say it was about a mile would probably be an understatment because it was long. From where I took the picture, we still had about a half a mile.

By the time we got to the air force base, after a bag search and a bus ride, the kids were ready to go home. So we decided we should get them something to eat. We had thirty dollars in cash to eat lunch with. Sounds pretty resonable huh? Not when 5 chicken fingers and fries are sixteen dollars. We decided that instead of eating there we'd look around for a little while, munch on the string cheese and trail mix we managed to smuggle in, (don't look at me like that!), and head out to eat lunch somewhere a little cheaper. We could've gone to a steak house and eaten cheaper. Derek and I loved looking at the airplanes in the sky, but after waiting so long and being hungry, the kids weren't really into it. We had a fun time, but next time we'd leave the kids home and head out by ourselves.

Brandon and Kendal in front of this huge plane. I can't remember what it is but it was big!
